After a very successful course last summer, we're excited to announce that Nick Matthew joins us again this summer, sharing his elite squash championship experience during this ultimate pre-season online training program!
Squash is a tough sport, and struggling to get match-fit in the first month back can be frustrating (and painful). That's why maximizing your performance for the competitive season starts with getting into peak condition during the off-season. The foundation you build before the new squash season sets the stage for success.
About the Program
The Summer Training Program, starting on 9th July, will be headed up by Nick Matthew and SquashSkills Fitness Director Gary Nisbet.
Over 8 weeks, you'll follow a program designed specifically for the start of the season. The course includes on-court and off-court workouts, periodic fitness testing, and guidance on recovery and healthy living to maximize your results.
We'll focus on endurance, power, and speed in a structured way that leaves you in peak condition, ready to dominate your first match.

No worries! You can fit the entire program into your schedule, regardless of your other commitments or location.
Many players struggle to make the most of the off-season, but with Nick Matthew and Gary Nisbet's guidance, you'll learn how to optimize your summer training and elevate your game to new heights for the 24/25 season.
How It Works
Before the course starts, you will receive an email with the final details to get you all set up.
We will give you links to download the SquashSkills Training app, join the WhatsApp chat with the main coach and you will also get the first Zoom call date and time.
You will have an introduction Zoom call - The purpose of the Zoom call is to run you through the course details, get to know everyone else and ask any initial questions you may have.
You will also receive your first weekly sessions in the SquashSkills Training app.
We work in four blocks, so you will receive new sessions on weeks 1, 3, 5 and 7 and then repeat those sessions on weeks 2, 4, 6 and 8. This way you will have enough time to really improve your technique - practice makes perfect.
The program consists of 2 main sessions and 1-2 bonus sessions per week. Each session is around 30-45 minutes long. You can finish the sessions around your availability.
Throughout the course, you will have 4 Zoom calls with the coaches - The topics vary based on the course but the main topics are usually: Q&A, follow-along fitness session, game analysis.
You will be a part of a WhatsApp chat with the coach and the rest of the participants - This is really your chance to share how you're getting on with the course and ask the coach any questions that you have about training (recovery, technique, nutrition, feedback etc).
Once the course is finished you will still have all the materials - You can always go back and re-do the 6-week course if you want. All the sessions and the Zoom call recordings will stay with you and the WhatsApp chat will stay available as well if you ever want to message the rest of the participants.

It is suitable for all ages, including juniors. As the main communication channel with the coaches and the rest of the team is WhatsApp then it is either the junior or the parent, or both, can join the WhatsApp group to keep an eye on any notes, activities etc, depending on how the family decides.
