Training /  Pairs - Practising your lob (50 mins)

    • Description:

      Routine where the order of shots is boast, cross court lob and then straight volley drive. As the first exercise in the session, work on establishing your range and accuracy on your lob.

    • Exercise Notes:This exercise serves as a warm up, as well as the chance to start practising and thinking about different aspects of the lob.

    • Minutes on exercise:6:00

    • Description:

      Routine where the order of shots is boast, cross court or straight lob and then straight volley drive. Try and hold this routine for 6 minutes.

    • Exercise Notes:In this exercise, make sure your lob is as high as possible, but remember it's a cardinal sin to hit the ball out while playing a lob.

    • Minutes on exercise:6:00

    • Description:

      The player at the back of the court is hitting a straight volley drop that the player at the front must lob. 3 minutes in each position on both sides.

    • Exercise Notes:In this exercise, make sure you focus on moving into the front corners with your racket below the ball, as this allows you to get plenty of height on your lob.

    • Minutes on exercise:12:00

    • Description:

      In this condition game, both players can only play shots above the service line, unless they hit a volley, which can be hit anywhere. Play one game to 11.

    • Exercise Notes:In this game, players should be trying to keep the ball away from the opponents volley by using as much height on the front wall as you can.

    • Minutes on exercise:10:00

    • Description:

      Both players are playing a full court game, however if the ball is taken in short, the next shot must be a lob.

    • Exercise Notes:Play 2 games to 11
