Training /  Solo - Wrist position focus advanced (40mins)

    • Description:

      In this exercise, the player is hitting straight drives back to himself with the option of a cross court drive at any time to change sides. Try and disguise your shot, and use just the snap of the wrist to determine the direction of the ball

    • Description:

      In this exercise, the player feeds themself mid-court to play a straight drop. For this session though, mix in the occasional drive from the same position - use DP's tips on holding the ball and using the wrist to generate pace and disguise

    • Description:

      In this exercise, the player is hitting straight volleys back to himself from the back corners of the court. Aim to keep a firm wrist position and a controlled follow through in your swing.

    • Exercise Notes:Work for 4mins on the FH, then switch across and work for 4mins on the BH

    • Description:

      In this exercise, the player hits cross court volleys from around the middle of the court. Focus on keeping the racket head above the level of the wrist, controlling your swing and gradually increasing the pace as you get more comfortable

    • Description:

      In this exercise, the player is standing on the T and hitting volleys at an angle into the front and side wall join so that the ball comes back to the middle, occasionally snapping the wrist through and sending in a short attacking shot.

    • Description:

      In this exercise, the player can hit any shot short off of a random feed. Practice using a variety of different holds and delay, and experiment with incorporating changes of angle by snapping the wrist through from different positions.
