Training /  Solo - Attacking Patterns of Play (40mins)

    • Description:

      Use this practise to get comfortable receiving a cross court onto the volley. Rather than hitting each shot across the court, on EVERY THIRD SHOT punch a straight drive to the back to practise hitting the open space

    • Exercise Notes:Do for a total of 10mins but hitting the open space alternatively each time you start

    • Minutes on exercise:10:00

    • Description:

      Working on hitting continuous straight drives to yourself, set up the same way for all shots and when it feels right practise hitting the attacking 2-wall boast. Put a racket against the front wall and aim to hit the grip as shown in the LJ video<

    • Exercise Notes:Once you have played the boast, collect the ball and continue on the opposite side

    • Description:

      Linking in one of the key shots for Attacking Angles of Play, use this session to fine tune the feeling of receiving a cross court and playing a straight volley drop so it becomes habit

    • Exercise Notes:Do for 5mins on the forehand volley drop then swap sides

    • Minutes on exercise:10:00

    • Description:

      Focussing on the honing the quick counter drop, feed yourself a boast and try and get onto the ball early and execute a quick counter drop that is tight against the side wall. Your opponent will likely have to cross court the next shot

    • Exercise Notes:Do for 5mins on one side and then swap

    • Minutes on exercise:10:00
