Training /  Zero to Hero: Pairs drive practice (45mins)

    • Description:

      Focus on the key technique points of a good straight drive, thinking about positioning, racket control, and rhythm. Aim to keep the drop tight to the side wall, but at a fairly easy pace and height

    • Exercise Notes:Work for 3mins, and then switch positions with your partner. Repeat on both sides of the court.

    • Description:

      Focus on the key technique points of a good straight drive, thinking about positioning, racket control, and rhythm. If you struggle with keeping the rally going with the boast, pick the ball up after each drive and play the boast from the hand.

    • Exercise Notes:Work for 4mins, and then switch positions with your partner.

    • Minutes on exercise:8:00

    • Description:

      Focus on the key technique points of a good straight drive, thinking about positioning, racket control, and rhythm. Look to put your opponent under pressure by getting the ball bouncing through to the back wall.

    • Exercise Notes:Work for 5mins, and then switch to the other side of the court.

    • Minutes on exercise:10:00

    • Description:

      In the 1st game both players must hit every ball to ball bounce behind the short line. For the 2nd game the ball can be hit to bounce once before the short line, as long as the 2nd bounce goes beyond (allowing for lower, more attacking drives).

    • Exercise Notes:Play each of the two games to 11 points
