Training /  Pairs - Developing clean hitting on the forehand (40mins)

    • Description:

      Routine where one player hit a straight drop from the back corner and the other player hits a straight drive from the front corner. Start by getting your basic grip and wrist position comfortable, and working on building up rhythm

    • Exercise Notes:Work for 4mins, then switch positions with your partner

    • Description:

      Routine where one player hits a FH drive from the back corner and then hits a straight drop. The other player hits a FH drop from the front corner and then a straight drive. Try and utilise hold and disguise in your swing on your shots

    • Exercise Notes:Work for 4mins and then switch positions

    • Description:

      Routine where players hit a straight drive, a straight drive and then a straight drop in that order. Although the routine is predictable, try and still make it realistic by adding delays in your swing, and attempting to make shots hard to read

    • Description:

      Similar to the previous drill, now the players hit rotating drives behind the back of the box then have the option to hit straight drops at any time. Move around each other with fluency, and start thinking more about flowing to and from your shot<

    • Description:

      Finish the session by opening up into a full alley game, utilising all of the technique aspects you've been working on. Be disciplined and controlled, but vary your swing size/speed - make sure your hitting stays smooth and clean

    • Exercise Notes:Play a match down the alley, of first to 11 best of 3 games
