Training /  Improve your drives from deep - week 2

    • Description:

      Each week you will start with this drill for 2.5 mins on each side. Ultimately we are trying to get better at this shot so dedicated practise time each week should be given to it as a priority

    • Description:

      Progressing a little from last week, try and keep the ball in the service box but now you are aiming to get the ball lower on the front wall rather than solely keeping it above the service line

    • Exercise Notes:Do for 5-mins on each side of the court

    • Minutes on exercise:10:00

    • Description:

      This great solo drill focuses on good racket head speed, accuracy and ultimate ball control. Doing this drill will ultimately help your ability to get a better score at your consecutive drives off the back wall 

    • Exercise Notes:Do for 2.5-mins on each side of the court

    • Minutes on exercise:5:00

    • Description:

      Progressing from just straight rotating drives, both players now have the option to hit a cross court at any time. This changes the side for the rotating drives to continue on

    • Exercise Notes:Do the drill for 10-mins, it will naturally swap sides

    • Minutes on exercise:10:00

    • Description:

      In pairs, work on this drill to get both players hitting good drives from both the front and the back as well as playing a drive off somebody's drive from the front is slightly different 

    • Exercise Notes:Do the drill for 5-mins then swap where the original boast starts from

    • Minutes on exercise:10:00

    • Description:

      Making it competitive, play a deep game with both players trying to score points by forcing your opponent to be unable to get the ball deep again. First to 15-points is the winner

    • Exercise Notes:Play first to 15-points

    • Minutes on exercise:15:00
