Squash /  Where to aim on the front wall

There's something you alluded to, but didn't really say, and that's that the quality of the drop shot is not based by how close you get it to the tin. My best periods of success with drop shots come when I'm not even thinking about where I want the ball to hit the front wall, it's where I'm aiming for the ball to land that matters.

The forehand/backhand drop test on this site using a target near the nick is a great way to get into this mindset (after a few repetitions), and I do it every so often to re-enforce that behaviour. I now use targets a more during my practices because they can be used to focus attention on specific qualities of the shot.
