Guide to creating your own sessions

26th September 2018

The site is designed to offer flexibility to our members. If you want to keep things simple you can find ready-made sessions and take them to the court to focus on different aspects of your game. However, if you’re looking for a bit more flexibility to create your own sessions then the session planning tool will be of great use.

Start by clicking on the exercise section of the ‘Squash sessions’ tab.

Here you can browse through ideas for new routines and condition games by using the drop-down menus.

The real power lies in the right-hand side menu on the desktop. By clicking the ‘Create new session’ button in the top right you will be presented with the option to name your session.

A new page will load and you will be presented with the exercise library where the thumbnails now contain a + button.

You are able to add these exercise to your session by simply clicking the + icon.

The filters allow you to find exercises that are relevant to your session, so if you want a pairs volley session you will select those two options and the videos will show up. You can always remove filters and then add other options so you could create a mixture of routines and condition games in one session.

Once exercises have been added to the right-hand menu you are able to change the order by using the arrows to the left of the thumbnail.

You are then able to change the details associated with the exercise by clicking the down arrow on the right-hand side.

This will open up three boxes where you can make adjustments.

  1. The description shouldn’t change much as this just describes the fundamentals of the exercise.
  2. The exercise notes section allows you to highlight the key things to focus on within the exercise. If you are working on volleys, you may want to point out the need to take a higher T position for example. This section can also be used to suggest the length of a game.
  3. The time section allows you to change the length of time that the exercise runs for.

Once you have finished creating your session you can hit the ‘Take session’ button and download a PDF or access it via the left-hand navigation on a mobile device when you are at the court.
